Eros, understood as a feeling of lack, drives people to desire what they are missing. The heartbreaking pain and the ambivalence of beauty and desire, which can drive a person mad, are at the center of this work. Through metaphors and symbols depicted in ceramics and steel, the duality of love and pain is made visible. The pursuit of what is unattainable is a central part of the human experience of love and desire. Eros arises from a sense of lack. This constant striving and feeling of deficiency make Eros a state of perpetual longing.
Another key aspect of Eros is the paradox of closeness and distance. The desire for the beloved arises from distance and the yearning for closeness. At the same time, fulfilling this desire can weaken the desire itself. The bittersweet element of Eros can lead to obsession. The obsessive person experiences the joy and excitement of love while simultaneously feeling the pain of rejection and unfulfillment. The intense desire for the unattainable person amplifies this bittersweet feeling. The phenomenon of placing the beloved on a pedestal can be understood as a projection of idealized notions.
